GANTOB’s 2023: A trilogy

There are a few copies kept in reserve. These are for copyright requirements, for the KLFRS Board if they ask, and in case of damage to copies sent on 27 January 2024. If you did not have a chance to submit a blog during December 2023, do not despair. If you ask very nicely, have a pamphlet to submit, an excuse, and if I still have a spare copy, you might be in luck: check out the 52 pamphlets page for how to prepare and submit a pamphlet.

There is a book of the blog posts of the last 99 days of 2023. It is be called GANTOB’s 2023: A trilogy. It includes all 99 of the daily blogs on GANTOB.blog, an exclusive Curt Finks story, and any relevant additional material from social media posts, pamphlets or other paraphernalia published after 23 September 2023 (i.e. it will not contain materials that were included in the first GANTOB book package).

It is in the same format as my first book Grapefruit Are Not The Only Bombs: 2023 re-enactment (i.e. an A5 book, illustrated in full colour). It will have an ISBN. As with my earlier book it is published by GANTOB Books. It will look great on your bookshelf. If you don’t already have a copy of Grapefruit Are Not The Only Bombs: 2023 re-enactment, then I might be able to put my hands on a copy (though cannot promise that).

There are 23 copies of GANTOB’s 2023: A trilogy. That includes up to 6 copies for The Tillerman and The KLFRS Board; 6 copies for Legal Deposition Obligations (for British Library etc); a copy for myself; and a shared copy for The Benefaktor and TFD. That leaves very few copies for competition applicants.

To apply to receive a copy of the book you needed to submit exactly 400 words (not including title, which can be up to 6 words), in English, imagining the events of one or more of the following characters during the last 99 days of 2023:

• GANTOB
• The Benefaktor
• GANTOB’s husband Ali
• GANTOB’s former boss Susan
• The Benefaktor’s granddaughter “The Foundation Doktor” (AKA TFD)
• The Benefaktor’s acquaintance The Photographer
• The ghost of Curt Finks
• The late Curt Finks’ ornithologist friend Bronwyn Gosling
• Other characters mentioned in GANTOB’s book Grapefruit Are Not The Only Bombs: 2023 re-enactment; pamphlets; Kompanion Volume and/or this blog

You did not need to link the events to The KLF, The JAMs, or 2023: A trilogy by The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu. If you chose to make such a link then it may or may not have been to your advantage. I can be fickle. And this is my GANTOBverse.

Your submission had to be submitted by 23:23 on 27 November 2023 (your time – note that late submissions may be tolerated, even into December, if you have a good excuse). That will give you some leeway if you are going to The Krossing. You can make up to 3 submissions per household.

Selected entries will be uploaded to the GANTOB.blog during the 31 days of December 2023. Selection of successful applicants took place on 28 November (my time). All decisions were final. There was some communication about entries. Inclusion on the blog guarantees you a copy of GANTOB’s 2023: A trilogy.

GANTOB filled some gaps on the blog during December with posts of her own. The Benefaktor, TFD and The Deputy General Manager of GANTOB (the projekt) were there to make posts on her behalf (which was required latterly).

Note that this is a re-enactment of The JAMs’ book 2023: A trilogy. It is part of the KLF Re-enactment movement. GANTOB, and other residents in the GANTOBverse are absolutely unrelated to The KLF or The JAMs.
