Little Grapefruit spent a few days in New York recently. Wanting to practise her writing, but unwilling to commit to a poem, story or book, she sat on Williamsburg Bridge, leaning against the steel support, scribbling on a green tea slip in pencil. On reaching the end of the piece of paper she rubbed out her jottings and started all over again.
The fragile fragment thinned with each cycle, but she kept going until the worn and torn slip disintegrated, its remains floating into East River. She had been there for 16 hours, writing. The next day she returned with a new green tea slip, pencil and eraser.
I am similarly engaged in writing practice. On 11 July I will move into drafting stage and start preparing the third pamphlet of this phase of the GANTOB project: TABLES (GP003).
The new pamphlet, yet to be written, can be reserved for £3 here. Only 20 copies will be available, with each order receiving a handwritten green tea slip, an A4 photo and a copy of the pamphlet. Pamphlet GP001 and booklet GP002 are still available.
I am writing this pamphlet in response to a series of pictures by GANTOB contributor Gaynor.
