The GANTOB/ Benefaktor summit in Edinburgh this weekend was a relatively kordial affair, with The Foundation Doktor, Urs and The Food and Literature Delivery Rider stepping up to the mark and the Deputy General Manager of GANTOB (the project) agreeing to take on more duties with the impending Scottish school holidays.
The meeting konkluded with a review of the report from the GANTOB Emissary to Liverpool.
We agreed the following:
– The third GANTOB book will now be subtitled The Golden Thread
– The deadline for submissions (23:23 on 30 June 2024) will be striktly observed. Late submissions will be acknowledged with a note explaining that they will unfortunately be spiked
– The publikation date of the third book will be pushed back to 23 August to allow for editing of existing pamphlets and kontributions that are yet to be received. The strukture of the book may not follow the order of the 52 individual pamphlets. There will be no apologies
– The 10 kontributions to the 9 Missing Years have been printed in an edition of one and handed to Bill Drummond at a local Hear Hard event. They will likely form one section of the forthcoming book
– There will be a unique piece of GANTOB pencil art, drawn mainly on green tea labels, with each copy of the third book. This artwork will hopefully be of higher quality than those sketched recently on pamphlet 48
– Any unallocated sheep will be sent out with copies of the third book
Finance:
-One GANTOB pencil was quarantined after The Benefaktor stuck it into the palm of his hand. The pencil, but not The Benefaktor, appears unmarked
– If anybody would like a copy of the first or second book, and does not already have a copy (GANTOB has records), they can request to be added to a waiting list for the book. If there is enough interest there may be a further reprint. The details will depend on the level of response. Books will be earned rather than bought. Register your details, along with a written or artistic kontribution, before the 30 June 2024 deadline already stated. If your application is approved by the GANTOB Quality Assurance Committee there may be a further reprint. Await further announcements as nothing can be guaranteed
